Romance

Black women love romance, but get little of it.  Black women just want to find a good man, settle down, and have a good life.  Unfortunately, many black men, not all, but many, don’t seem to be up to the task.

Too many brothers are in jail, on drugs, selling drugs, dropping out of high school, not seeking higher education, not commiting themselves to one woman, making babies all over God’s creation and not providing support, cheating, being playas, being ruffnecks, and all around generally fucking up.

Black women are dying on the vine waiting to be treated like women, loved, and cherished.  A black woman will love the shit of out a good man.  Black women swoon and holla at movies that show handsome black men being romantic - and responsible.

Now, black men like romance, too.  They like sexy, in shape, sweet smelling women.  Yes, black men are - well men - and therefore are guided by visual appeal.  That means black women should take care of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally so she can accept the love and romance her man wants to give her.  In other words, it takes two.

Romance - made to feel like a woman or a man - Black people love that shit.

Fine Lookin’ Brothers

Black women love themselves some fine lookin’ brothers.  Yaz Lawd!  Why just last night yours truly, moi, had a dream about Denzel in all his fine glory - but I digress.  Now brothers come in a wide range of colors, sizes, and shapes.  A light-skinned brother may have a chance but…. Black women love black men that look like black men - smooth dark skin like velvet, soft ample lips, nice nose, hair together, flat stomach, nice chest that look like he work out some, and clean like he know about showering in the morning.  (Hint to the brothers - I have personally been known to check out the rim of your underwear to see whether it was sparkling snow white clean and that was back in the day - now that most of you are walking around with your drawers hanging out, changing them daily is a top pri-or-ra-ty and a daily shower and using some deodorant - there is nothing more disappointing than accepting a dance with a fine-looking brother only to find out on the dance floor that he is smelling musty and needs to get that damned sweated up suit cleaned!)

Like I was saying they come in different sizes, shapes, and colors.  They come in different types too.  You got your business man brother, your ghetto brother, your college-educated brother, your entrepreneurial brother, your gangster brother, your hard-headed brother, your romantic brother, your he fine but he too young for me brother (so we gone have to sneak around) - it just goes on and on. Yes lawd, black women do love that shit.  They love them some romance, too, but that’s another blog.

 On a Serious Tip:

2004 Census figures show:  31.9% of married black folk live with their spouse, compared to 56.1% of whites.  1.9% of married blacks live without their spouses, compared to .9% of whites.  6.3% widowed, 11% divorced, 4.3% separated and 44.4% have never married compared to 24.9% of whites.  While 24.9% of whites represents 39,751 whites and 44.4% represents only 11,839 blacks, it still remains that nearly half of the black population never marries!  On that note, click on Black People Meet and start meeting each other.
